If you have been to our concerts, you know that they are a very different experience from the typical chamber music series.
With no paid staff, we operate completely on volunteer labor. Everything from website management to hauling equipment and
folding programs is done by a group of fun, committed volunteers. Our concerts are unique for many reasons, a key
ingredient being the vibrant energy of volunteer involvement.
Here are some areas where we typically need help, and what the time commitment would be.
All of these tasks have to be completed for every program. If you are only interested in a certain task
or able to assist with only one concert, we would still love to hear from you. It may not sound glamorous,
but it all makes for a great event! Just let us know what works for you.
- Drive your truck or large vehicle to load in equipment the day before the concert (1 hour)
- Wait at the gallery for the rental company to arrive, instruct them where to place the stage (2 - 3 hour time window -- bring a book)
- Equipment set-up: adjusting the stage, climbing ladders to hang lights and recording equipment, chair set up, and cleaning (2 hours)
- Concert duty: set up reception beverages and food, fold programs, manage box office, help clean up at program end (3.5 hours)
- Pick up 4 cases of used beverage glassware, run multiple dishwasher loads at your home, return glassware to venue the next day for second concert (time varies)
- Babysit children of performing musicians or other participating volunteers during a concert (3.5 hours)
- Drive your truck or large vehicle to load out equipment at end of second concert around 10pm (1 hour)
